The Tru-Trac Dual Return roller system is patented worldwide and developed to cope with the excessive forces generated by wide belts, heavy loads and belt speeds in excess of 4 m/s. The externally mounted axial mechanism is designed to eliminate the need for one large drum and to achieve concentric and balanced rotation of the rollers. This resulted in extended bearing life and the creation of a very fast and effective roller alignment system.
Tru-Trac dual roller assemblies work in a similar way to single rollers, except that a central axle is used instead of a pin embedded in the inner drum. When the tape slides off the center of the roll, it touches the tapered outer edges of the rolls. When the belt moves over the part of the roller with a smaller diameter, there is a difference in the frictional force that causes the axis to rotate and one of the rollers to move forward and the other to the rear, thus the tape is directed back to the center.
