Theoretically, the minimum tension length (Dn) of an EP rubber conveyor belt can be determined using the formula D n = 1.5% x D r . Where D r (in mm) is the length of the track between the axles of the drums.
Example:
The length of the track between the axles of the drums (D r ) = 43300
D n = 1.5% x 43300
The minimum draw length is 650 mm
Depending on e.g. belt width, load size and customer requirements, the maximum length of the spacing between the axles of the drums of the conveyor system (D r ) with the use of a traditional tensioning device is from 60,000 to 72,000 mm. Gravity tension systems are often used for longer installations.
